Assis sur le Rebord du Monde :-
Sitting on the Edge of the World

"If my memory's serving me right"
Said God somewhere in the sky,
"I had started a story
On a new planet, all blue
Blue so that it was different
I'm going to sit on the edge of the world
To see what the men have done with it"

"I had put men just passing
I had mixed the colours
I had taught them to share
They repeated all by heart
"Always!", all, always in the same round dance
I'm going to sit on the edge of the world
To see what the men have done with it"

"I remember telling the men:
For every woman a hill of flowers
Then I planted apple trees
Everyone bit happily
And everywhere, everywhere rivers deep
I'm going to sit on the edge of the world
To see what the men have done with it"

Suddenly the whole city stops
They say the rivers have gone bigger
The children come nearer, worried, asking
"Why all this noise?"
Probably God with his blonde beard
God who's sitting on the edge of the world
Crying to see it such as it is!

God who's sitting on the edge of the world
Crying to see it such as it is!
